(inc. VAT and UK shipping)
Product Details
A hand-carved oak storytelling chair created in memory of Karen, for the children of St Aidan’s Nursery. Featuring a peaceful woodland scene with a fox, badger, and oak tree, this chair celebrates stories, nature, and the lasting bonds of community.
Commissioned by St Aidan’s Nursery, Karen’s Storytelling Chair was designed to honour a much-loved nursery teacher who inspired generations of children.
The design centres around an ancient oak tree—its branches forming a protective canopy over two sleeping woodland friends, a fox and a badger—symbolising peace, rest, and the cycles of nature.
Hand-carved from solid Welsh oak, the chair bears the inscription:
“Karen’s Storytelling Chair” across the top banner
“Never forget where you’ve come here from 🎵” along the footrest
Each detail holds meaning: the bee, butterfly, and ladybird remind us of growth and renewal, while small carved birds perched on the branches bring a gentle sense of life to the design. The date 2025 marks the year of dedication, carved beneath the oak tree.
Every storytelling chair we create is unique—designed in collaboration with each client to reflect their loved one’s spirit and the community it belongs to. This piece has found its home in the nursery garden, where children can gather, imagine, and listen to stories under Karen’s watchful tree.
